Sling kumaşı omuzlardan arkaya atılır, arkadan kollar çapraz olacak seklide tekrar öne getirilip gevşekçe bağlanır.Bebek prematüre veya yeni doğan bebek ise , bebeğin kafası annenin göğsüne gelecek şekilde,yan yatış pozisyonunda yatırılır. Bebek oturabiliyorsa, bebeğin rahat oturabilmesi için kalça bandı ,bebeğin diz kapaklarının altına gelecek şekilde ayarlanır. Önden bağlanan bağcık açılır ve bebeği rahatsız etmeyecek şekilde daha sıkı bağlanır. Slingi sıkılaştırmak için omuzlardan sarkan kumaş omuz üstlerinde toplanır. Bağlama tamamlandıktan sonra , bağcılardan bir tanesi üste doğru çekilerek bebeği ikinci defa sarar.
